Al Faw “Qaryat”

Al Faw  “Qaryat”

The “Al Faw” village or as called locally “Qaryat” is one of the historical places in Saudi Arabia, that presents the history of the vivid example of an Arab city before Islam, which shows many historical characters such as houses, markets, roads, cemeteries, temples etc.

The village goes back to  the Kingdom of Kindah, whereas it was the capital city of it, and it had an important roll in the history of the Arabian Peninsula, for more than five centuries. The people of Al Faw were involved in farming and trading.

The village was a major trade center and the junction of groups, which carried elements, fabrics, grains from different parts of the region.

Madain Saleh

Madain Saleh

Madain Saleh, or “Al Hijr” is the land of Thamud in the Al Qura valley. It is located north-east of Almadina Almunawarrah city, which holds a strategic position on the olden trade route that connect the southern Arabia with Mesopotamia, Levant and Egypt.

Madain Saleh was mentioned in the Holy Quran and the Holy Bible with reference to Prophet Saleh. As the Holy Quran mentioned the people of Thamud had met destiny, when they refused to accept the call of Prophet Saleh to obey God’s orders, as it was described in the She-Camel story.

The amazing feature of this historical area and its people is the way they have designed their houses, which were built in a mountains, using no modern machines, where it is all a manmade.
